I’ll be in the market for a new car in the summer/fall. I am leaning midsize p/u (GM Twins, Tacoma).
The new RL i’d like to give a look before i buy, but this thing looks awful. I was so so about the pics from the Detroit show, and the vid from the Superbowl ad, but these new pics from the CAS, look, well, not good. Thoughts?

I like the oppo render of the single-cab best.

It looks super cool but I’m not even a truck guy and I feel like I’d stay away from it

i don’t really like that render either. This thing just looks wierd. And im not a truck basher.

I have not been impressed with Hondas of late, but I actually like this. I would seriously consider one if I was in the market for a mid-sized truck

i still want to see it and will wait to drive it. Maybe its the small wheels with the fender flares, i dont know, just doesnt look great with all these accessories.

I reeeheeeeally like that thing. (The wheels? Meh.. Not so much.)
It all comes down to price. That segment of “Trucks” is going to get competitive quick.

Yay a transverse V6 FWD pickup! Get ready for GReddy HFP tow hitches and A’pexi Noir rollin coal dogg. Black smoke adds like 30 hp
Toyota is better.

I hate Honda wheels. And I agree, the black plastic trim around the body looks cheap and doesn’t work.
I would also have to wait to see it in person and drive one before I’d say I’d buy one.

I kinda like it, but if you buy one you’ll have to be ready for all the tools who ask why you didn’t buy a “real” truck. Also, it’s not 8 years old yet, so doesn’t fall into my normal search criteria.

I actually like it a lot, I think the rear wheel definitely looks too small though. It could be interesting to see one with that fixed...someone. Maybe bigger wheels/tires, or smaller cladding. I'm not sure.

i really couldnt care less what internet trolls think of the ridgeline if i were to buy one.

I think it’s a fantastic rig, but of course the brotruck crowd will say how much of a hunk of jap crap it is. Fact of the matter is, many Ridgeline owners love their cars so much.

I saw a new pilot in Black near my place, it looks really nice, like they moved it up the scale, the CRV is more posh too. I have a 2006 CRV and I like it because it’s so simple and utilitarian. They aren’t like that anymore.

I don’t like the rear of the Pilot and I hate the chrome strip at the top of the grille. I feel that its not going to age well. Over all they are nice. My mom has a ‘15 CR-V EX-L. Its nice and drives well, and Honda has figured out the CVT. But for a 30K + vehicle, there are small details that Honda definitely needs to work on.

I feel like Honda could offer half the accessories, rebadge it as as either (or both) a new GMC model (“Acadia EXT”?) or a third-gen Chevy Avalanche, and sell them as fast as they can build them.
People just aren’t looking at Honda for trucks.

The Ridgeline is what 90 percent of the truck market needs. How could anyone hate it?

Blech. I’d rather have the old one. That was different AND looked cool, this looks like a Pilot with a bed. And the pilot looks horrible enough already without adding weird proportions to the back of it.

The fenders are a little thick in pictures. But the rest of it looks great, espically in that color! Those wheels are great!
